The College of DuPage is a comprehensive community college located 27 miles west of downtown Chicago, vitally connected to our local area for over 50 years. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
The Associate Dean of Science, Technology, Engineering & Math (STEM) will assist the Dean of STEM in providing leadership in the ongoing development of an innovative and current curriculum in Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics to prepare students for transfer and career opportunities. At College of DuPage, STEM includes the following disciplines: Anatomy & Physiology, Biology/Microbiology, Botany, Chemistry, Earth Sciences (Astronomy, Geology, Oceanography, and Meteorology), Engineering, Physics, and Math. The Associate Dean will provide administrative and instructional leadership to the adjunct faculty and staff in the division and serve in an advisory capacity to the Dean. The Associate Dean reports to the Dean of STEM and is a member of the Academic Affairs leadership team.
Qualifications:
- Education
- Master's degree in a discipline within the STEM Division required or related field.
- Experience
- Three years experience as an administrator, department chair, program coordinator, supervisor, teacher, or comparable experience in education, business, or industry and as a leadership role aligned with the requirements of the position, at least one year of teaching and/or training experience is required.
- Dynamic leadership, excellent communication skills, flexible, and able to be a collaborative team player required.
- Demonstrated commitment to student success, outcomes-based education, and sensitivity to respond appropriately to the needs of a diverse population required.
- Successful experience in staffing, evaluating, and leadership, in a union environment preferred.
- Community college experience and online education experience preferred.
- Higher education administrative experience preferred.
Starting pay begins at $112,170 based on experience.
Competitive starting salaries are dependent on education and experience. College of DuPage also offers a generous benefits plan.
